Fibrous meningiomas usually contain ropey collagen that may mimic the appearance of solitary fibrous tumor. In this image, the collagen fibers look brighter and thickened intertwined with meningothelial cells bundles. Immunohistochemical positivity for EMA and a negative result for CD34 would favor the diagnosis of meningioma.
