Comments:
The presence of keratin pearls and copious keratin production is unequivocal for squamous differentiation in this urothelial carcinoma. Such foci comprised approximately 5% of the tumor. The presence of focal squamous differentiation in a urothelial carcinoma does not appear to have any prognostic significance.
