Comments:
Another image showing penetration of myometrium by intermediate trophoblastic cells. Several multinucleated giant cells are present; however, the biphasic pattern of syncytiotrophoblast and cytotrophoblast seen in Choriocarcinoma is absent here. This is a malignant tumor with a mortality rate of 10% to 20% if not treated properly.   return to Placental Site Trophoblastic Tumor
