Atypical Polypoid Adenomyoma

Topic: Mixed Epithelial-Mesenchymal Tumors

Category: Uterus

slide 4 of 24

Comments:
The glands are irregular in shape and lined by cuboidal or columnar epithelium with pseudostratification. They are surrounded by intersecting bundles of smooth muscle cells. Mild cytologic atypia and squamous morules are often seen. Long-term follow-up is needed following curettage to rule out recurrences. This tumor must be distinguished from endometrioid carcinoma invading myometrium.   return to Mixed Epithelial-Mesenchymal Tumors
