Adenoid Basal Carcinoma of Cervix

Topic: Rare/Unusual Tumors of Cervix

Category: Cervix

slide 6 of 9

Comments:
Note the bland cytology and peripheral palisading of the lining basaloid cells. Given the low-grade nature of the tumor, the treatment is usually conservative. An alternative term adenoid basal epithelioma has been proposed for this tumor by some to highlight its low-grade, indolent course.   return to Rare/Unusual Tumors of Cervix
