Decidual Reaction in Cervix

Comments:
This incidental phenomenon is seen in about one-third of cervical biopsies from pregnant women at term. It disappears by 8 wks post-partum. The decidual cells within the endocervical stroma in this image have abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm.
