Comments:
Aggressive Angiomyxoma - Molecular Genetics: A high percentage of aggressive angiomyxomas have chromosomal translocation involving the region 12q14-15 resulting in overexpression of HMGA2 gene. HMGA2 positivity is highly sensitive but not specific for aggressive angiomyxomas as it has been noted in other neoplasms in this location, including leiomyomas.

The image shows bland stellate and spindle cells with round or oval nuclei and scant or moderate eosinophilic cytoplasm distributed in a myxoid matrix.
