Comments:
Higher magnification of the previous image showing granulosa cells resting on theca interna layer. Excessive estrogenic stimulation in patients with Stein-Leventhal syndrome may cause endometrial hyperplasia and even endometrial carcinoma (usually well-differentiated and superficial). Treatment consists of cortisone or clomiphene. Previously, wedge resection of the ovary was the treatment of choice.   return to Miscellaneous Ovarian Lesions
