Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans

Topic: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans

Category: Fibrohistiocytic

slide 8 of 11

Comments:
High power view showing a mitotic figure just below the center of the image. Conventional DFSP has <5 mitoses per 10 HPF. With regards to immunohistochemistry, DFSP's are CD34+ve. This feature is useful in distinguishing them from benign fibrous histiocytomas which are usually CD34 negative.   return to Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans
