Juvenile Xanthogranuloma

Topic: Juvenile Xanthogranuloma

Category: Fibrohistiocytic

slide 3 of 3

Comments:
Early lesions and those that are deep seated are less lipidized. The image shows sheets of monomorphic histiocytes with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm, no cytologic atypia, and no increase in mitotic activity. The prognosis is excellent. Most cases regress spontaneously. Those that don't regress can be resected conservatively. Death may result in rare cases with systemic disease.   return to Juvenile Xanthogranuloma
