Molecular Genetics of Lung AdenoCA : Other Mutations
Changes in TP53 consisting of point mutations or homozygous deletion are seen in about 50% of lung adenocarcinomas and are related to smoking. Inactivation of P16/CDKN2A resulting in disruption of RB pathway is a frequent finding. Deletions of 3p resulting in the loss of tumor suppressor genes FHIT/FRAB3 and RASSF1A are seen frequently.
