Comments:
Another low power view of Type B1 thymoma showing pale islands of medullary differentiation consisting of more loosely packed lymphocytes present in areas resembling normal functioning thymic cortex. Type B1 thymoma accounts for between 6% to 17% of all thymomas. It is often associated with myasthenia gravis (between 20% to 50% of cases). Due to predominance of lymphocytes, the differential diagnosis includes T lymphoblastic lymphomas.   return to Thymoma : Type B1 (Lymphocyte-rich)
