Xanthogranulomatous Epididymitis

Comments:
Some cases of chronic epididymo-orchitis show abundant histiocytes with foamy cytoplasm. Such cases are referred to as xanthogranulomatous epididymo-orchitis. In the case illustrated here, the inflammation was largely within the epididymis resulting in an abscess formation. Numerous foamy histiocytes were present within the walls of the abscess.
