Hemangioendotheliomas – as a group – are tumors that are intermediate between hemangioma and angiosarcoma. They may recur locally and some have ability to metastasize, although less frequently than angiosarcomas. High power view shows a relatively uniform population of spindle cells lacking atypia or mitotic activity.   return to Vascular Tumors of Spleen
