Comments:
This MRI (with contrast) shows a large destructive mass on the left side of the skull base. It extends through the floor of the left middle cranial fossa into the infratemporal fossa impinging upon the pons. The tumor had also encircled the left internal carotid artery, jugular bulb, as well as the internal auditory meatus. Microscopic examination revealed a grade 2 chondrosarcoma. Case produced with permission, courtesy of Dr. Frank Gaillard. Radiopaedia. Complete case is here.
