Comments:
Chondromyxoid fibroma is a rare benign cartilaginous tumor containing varying amounts of chondroid, fibromatoid, and myxoid components. Radiographically, it appears as a sharply demarcated area of rarefaction which may expand the bone. The defect may be round or oval with scalloped borders. It may destroy the cortex and extend into the surrounding soft tissue. This x-ray shows involvement of a toe in a 14 y/o boy. Image courtesy of Bulent Celasun, MD, Ankara, Turkey.
