Topic: Apocrine Carcinoma

Category: Breast Carcinomas

Comments:
Apocrine carcinoma comprises 1% to 4% of breast cancers. The diagnosis should be reserved for cases with clear-cut architectural features of a malignant tumor and a predominant apocrine morphology. The tumor cells have vesicular nuclei, prominent nucleoli, abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm and may show apocrine snouts. They are usually positive for GCDFP-15 whose coding gene is on chromosome 7q.   return to Apocrine Carcinoma
