Comments:
As in the previous image, at high magnification, this HCC comprises sheets and nests of large tumor cells with pleomorphic nuclei, prominent nucleoli, abundant granular eosinophilic cytoplasm, scattered Mallory bodies (globular acidophilic bodies composed of proteins), distinct cell borders, and focal bile plugs. HCCs characteristically secrete bile, which is typically seen in spaces that recapitulate normal bile canaliculi.
