Adenocarcinoma in Barrett Esophagus

slide 2 of 10

Comments:
Higher magnification of the previous image showing mucin-producing invasive adenocarcinoma. The uninvolved normal squamous mucosa is to the left. The morphologic and immunohistochemical features of these tumors are similar to those seen in the stomach, although signet ring cell carcinomas are seen less frequently in the setting of Barrett esophagus.
