Comments:
Urothelium is normally present in the proximal portion of the prostatic ducts as they branch out from the urethra and end into the acini. Urothelial metaplasia refers to the presence of urothelium within prostatic ducts and acini in the more peripheral regions of the prostate (which might be sampled in a needle biopsy).
