Bipolaris : Fungal Culture Cell Block

This is an H&E-stained section of a cell block from Bipolaris culture (same case as the previous image) showing septate, branching hyphae and numerous cigar-shaped, multicellular conidia. Note the brown color which is due to the presence of melanin and melanin-like pigments in the cell wall. The amount is pigment is variable and ranges from absent to light, dusky brown to dark brown.
