Comments: Also known as Zoon’s balanitis it clinically resembles Bowen’s disease. It presents as bright red moist lesions in uncircumcised males. It is believed to be a reactive process. Microscopically, it shows a band-like infiltrate of plasma cells in the dermis.
Comments: Note the dense infiltrate of plasma cells and numerous capillaries. Extravasated red cells and hemosiderin-laden macrophages may also be seen. In some cases of plasma cell balanitis, plasma cells may be scant or even absent.
